Tai Chi helps people take control and responsibility for their health so that life
is a joy to live and not a burden to carry into old age.

Tai Chi Classes

Style and Form

Enso’s Tai Chi classes focus on the Wu Style Short Form. Wu Style Tai Chi is one of the three main traditional branches of Tai Chi (Chen, Yang, and Wu). The Wu style is distinguished by shorter, more upright stances, smaller movements, and more emphasis on working the body internally. The shorter stances and smaller external movements of the Wu Style are especially beneficial for older people, and those with joint degeneration or injuries.

The Wu Short Form is a series of 27 movements, taking about 5 minutes to perform at a medium pace. To help introduce Tai Chi to time-pressed Westerners, Wu Style Master and lineage holder Bruce Frantzis, developed the Short Form. You can read more about Bruce Frantzis here.

How to Register

To enroll in Tai Chi classes, you can self-register through the Enso Online Store using the links above or register in person (by appointment only). You can also submit an online student inquiry form. New students can register anytime before the start of the session.

If a minimum number of students is not met one week before the start of the session, the class may be cancelled and any payments received will be refunded.

What to Wear

Students should wear loose, comfortable clothes, allowing full freedom to move. Barefeet or socks are best. Students requiring some type of shoes should consult with the instructor. We ask students to avoid wearing perfumes, colognes, or other strong scents.

Instructor

Enso karate black belt (Shodan) Chris Cinnamon leads Enso’s Tai Chi classes. A Tai Chi practitioner for several years, Chris completed over 200 hours of Tai Chi instructor training with Wu Style lineage holder Bruce Frantzis in Brighton, England during the summer of 2011. Chris brings to his classes a love of study and practice of martial arts and a deep conviction about the benefits of practicing Tai Chi.
