About Enso

Enso is a family-oriented center for traditional martial arts, yoga, and other disciplines that value non-violence, discipline, character, self-improvement, and community. Located in the heart of Chicago, Enso serves a diverse population of children, teens, adults, and seniors seeking benefits from these disciplines.

What does Enso mean?

Enso is a Japanese word signifying a circle and has no single, fixed meaning. A popular expression in Zen painting, it symbolizes a moment when the mind is free enough to simply let the body or spirit create. The brushed ink of the circle shows the expressive movement of the spirit in time. The enso circle also symbolizes strength, enlightenment, harmony, elegance, and the universe. For us, the enso represents our commitment to personal growth by providing quality programs that emphasize discipline, dedicated practice, and balance of body, mind and spirit.

Facility

Our downtown facility features a beautiful new training space with a wood floor, high ceilings, and natural light. The studio is available for rental for private sessions, workshops, meetings, and rehearsals.
